To
help equip a body of dedicated believers who, through fervent prayer
and a firm grasp of the Word of God, operate within the vision and
Spirit of our Lord, so as to penetrate and saturate our world with the
"Good News" of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
About
God:
There is One true God in heaven and earth Who has chosen to reveal
Himself to His creation. Jesus is that One true God who came, manifest
in flesh, to purchase the salvation of all mankind. [John 1:1, 14]
About
the Bible:
The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. We firmly believe
that, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness:" [2 Timothy 3:16]
About
Sin:
All men are sinners in need of a Savior. The Scripture says, "For all
have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." [Romans 3:23] Men
cannot redeem themselves by their own good works. It took the sacrifice
of God's sinless lamb to pay the price for our sin and to give us
forgiveness. Christ's blood was freely shed on the cross so that men
might be forgiven for their sinful ways. The Bible bears witness to
this when it states, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of
God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." [Romans 6:23]
About
Salvation:
The Bible is clear concerning the plan of salvation. Jesus said,
"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of
the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." [John 3:5] To
obey this men must do the following: Men are to have faith in the
death, burial, and resurrection of the Messiah Jesus; repent by turning
from one's sinful life and turning to God believing that He will
recreate one into the image of Christ; be baptized by immersion in
Jesus' name for the remission of sins [See Acts 4:12]; receive, without
exception, the gift of the Holy Ghost, which is clearly seen in
Scripture to have been evidenced by the speaking of other tongues as
the Spirit of God gave the utterance. [See Acts 2:38]
About
Christian Living:
A born again believer should strive to live holy, righteously, and
soberly. The apostle Peter tells us to be, "Like the Holy One who
called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior." [1 Peter
1:15 NASU] We are called to live our testimony in word, deed,
lifestyle, attitude, and relationships by reaching out to others with
the love of Jesus Christ. [See Colossians 3:17] As such, we view all
human life as being equally created in God's image and thereby being
equally of value. We recognize the marital covenant of a man and a
woman as being a God-ordained union, and the family as God's ordained
channel for sustaining relationships and faith.
About
Spiritual Gifts:
We believe and have witnessed that God's spiritual gifts are still
available to the church today. These would include: The Word of Wisdom;
Word of Knowledge; Discerning of Spirits; Gift of Faith; Working of
Miracles; Gift of Healing; Gift of Prophecy; Gift of Diverse Tongues;
Gift of Interpretation of Tongues. [1 Corinthians 12:8-10]
About
Prophecy:
We believe that many of the prophecies of the Bible were fulfilled by
70 AD. We also believe that there are still some which are yet to be
fulfilled. Some of these include Jesus coming again to gather His
church and to bring judgment to the rebellious of this world. This will
usher in an eternal rest and reward for those who have been faithful to
Jesus, and an eternal judgment against the devil, the fallen angels,
and disobedient and wicked man. [Revelation 21:7-8]
